Some of the most important shifts in my life didn’t come from books or big events. They came from quiet moments—asking myself honest questions when things felt unclear.
If you’re in a season where you want to grow, but don’t know where to begin, start here. These seven questions helped me slow down, reflect, and move forward with more clarity.
1. What am I pretending not to know?
This question hits hard—but it’s often where growth begins.
Sometimes, we already know what’s not working. We just avoid admitting it because it would require change. Ask yourself gently: What truth am I avoiding?
Even noticing it is a step forward.
2. What’s one thing I need, but haven’t given myself?
It could be rest. It could be boundaries. It could be space to feel without fixing.
This isn’t about indulgence. It’s about honesty. When you meet your needs, you stop running on empty.
3. Where do I keep shrinking to make others comfortable?
This one takes courage. If you’re constantly editing yourself, it wears you down.
Personal growth often means choosing to take up space again—slowly, intentionally, without apology.
4. What’s no longer worth my energy?
Every day, we spend energy—on habits, people, thoughts. And not all of them return value.
Letting go of something small can create space for something meaningful.
5. When do I feel most like myself?
Think about it: where are you, who are you with, what are you doing?
You don’t need to reinvent your life. Sometimes you just need more of what brings you home to yourself.
6. What have I learned the hard way—and what did it teach me?
Growth is rarely clean or comfortable. But when you look back at what you’ve moved through, you’ll find strength you didn’t know you had.
Don’t overlook your own wisdom.
7. If nothing changed around me, what would I need to shift within me?
It’s easy to wait for circumstances to improve. But the deepest growth often happens when we stop waiting—and start shifting from within.
Ask yourself: What would I work on if everything else stayed the same?
You don’t need all the answers right now. You just need one honest question—and the space to sit with it.
Growth isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes, it’s about listening better.
Let that be your starting point.
