Why I needed one place for everything
I always felt like my life was scattered everywhere. Sticky notes on my desk, half-written lists on my phone, reminders I never checked again. I thought I was being “organized” but really I was just busy collecting things I never looked at.
One day I heard this idea—make a life dashboard. Not some fancy app, not a complicated system. Just one place where you can see the big picture of your life. It clicked for me because honestly I was tired of chasing pieces of myself all over the place.
How I started mine
So I opened a simple doc on my laptop and started. I wrote sections like “Health,” “Money,” “Work,” “Relationships,” “Personal goals.” Nothing too polished. Just raw notes on where I stand and what I want. For the first time it felt like all my scattered energy had one home.
What it does for me now
My life dashboard now is not perfect. Some weeks I forget to update it, some goals still stare back at me untouched. But it gives me perspective. Instead of drowning in daily noise, I can zoom out and ask: am I moving in the right direction?
It also keeps me honest. When I see “Health” empty for a month, I know I’ve been ignoring it. When I see “Relationships” filled with small notes like “called mom” or “coffee with a friend,” it reminds me that growth isn’t only about money or work.
Try building your own
If you ever feel lost in your own plans, I’d say try building your own dashboard. Start simple. One page. Five sections. Let it be messy. What matters is that it’s yours, and it grows with you.
