Learning from mistakes
When I look back, most of the lessons I’ve learned didn’t come from success. They came from mistakes, heartbreak, bad choices, and those nights when I thought I was stuck for good. Life doesn’t hand you wisdom in a clean package. It kind of throws it at you when you least expect it.
Health is the base
I used to stay up late, eat whatever, push myself until I crashed. Now I know health is the base of everything. Without it, nothing else works.
People matter more
I used to chase stuff, things I thought would make me happy. But the best memories I carry are conversations, laughter, love. People matter more than anything else.
Failure is part of the path
I used to think failure was the end. Now I see it’s just part of the path. Each failure carried me to something I couldn’t see at the time.
Consistency beats intensity
Not the big dramatic moments, but the quiet showing up—writing even when I didn’t feel like it, going for a walk when I was tired. Small efforts over time matter more than the big bursts.
Stop comparing
I wasted years looking sideways, measuring myself against everyone else. The day I stopped, I finally felt lighter.
Other lessons that stuck
Money gives safety but not meaning. Time alone can heal. Kindness never goes wasted. Balance is overrated. These are the ones that stay with me.
Still learning
I don’t always remember these lessons. Some days I still repeat the same old mistakes. But I keep coming back to them. They remind me I’m still growing, still finding my way.
These are my 10 so far. I know life will keep adding to the list.
